Fallout Marching Band

The Fallout Band is a large street band, in existence for 40 years, a strong mix of original members, now augmented by other musicians. The band was originally part of the 80s peace movement, playing against nuclear weapons at local and large demos in the UK including at Greenham Common, plus Italy, France and Germany; and for other causes and events since. For the last 15 years the band has been playing annually at WOMAD Charlton Park: on the children’s procession, popup sets on site and stage, and in 2024 played the WOMAD Taste The World stage, tracing its early history through politics and food. The repertoire is a mix of world music, South African jazz, klezmer, Balkan, ska, and originals in related styles. The Fallouts can play on procession and acoustic standing sets.
