Welcome to The Cornish Bank

34, CHURCH STREET, FALMOUTH, TR11 3EF

Since opening in 2020, we have hosted a lot of events – music festivals, band residencies, open mic nights, feasts, cèilidhs, queer nights, film screenings, art exhibitions, folk sessions, creative workshops and lots and lots of gigs!

We are a vibrant, not for profit, grassroots music venue and community arts space in the centre of Falmouth, Cornwall. Please check out our listings and come and support the amazing artists and creatives we are so lucky to host!

FAQs

What time does the show start?
We understand that it is useful for people to know what time their show starts, but we have to balance the wants of our audience with the wants of the artists. Namely, to get people through the door early! Ticket holders will receive an email the day before the show, but generally the support acts usually start half an hour after doors open, and our live music (anything with instruments) ends at 11pm, with the venue shutting at midnight.

Can I get a refund?
We offer full refunds for shows that are cancelled, postponed or changed. Please email info@thecornishbank.co.uk to ask for a refund if you have not heard from us. We are not able to offer refunds in other circumstances, as aligned with other venues, cinemas and theatres.

What’s your age policy?
Unless stated in the event description, we allow under 18s into the event, as long as they are accompanied by an adult on a 1:1 ratio. Some events are 18+ but it will state this in the event description.

ACCESSIbility

The Cornish Bank is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet by the front door to the building. Unless stated, gigs will be standing gigs, expect for a small number of seats. If you have trouble standing, please email us and we will reserve a seat for you.

An accessible entrance to The Touc Inn is around the back of the building, but a code for the side lane gate is required. Please email accessibility prior to your visit and we will send you the code.

We regularly host events at KCM Church which now has step-free access. Please let us know ahead of time if you require this and we will set up the ramps for you so you can get in the venue promptly. If you do forget to email ahead, talk to the door staff and they will set up the ramp.

Directions:
1.1. If you’re arriving to the venue by car, we suggest parking your vehicle on New Street, there is a slope that leads down the back of the Church.
1.2. If you are arriving as a pedestrian, we suggest heading up Well Lane towards Well Lane car park (past Dills café).
2. From here, turn left and follow the road behind the Church until you reach the slope which leads down the back of the building. From here you will encounter one ramp. Once you’re inside the Church gates, you can enter the building via the ramp through the blue door straight ahead of you which leads you to the front of the venue. There is space for wheelchairs on the front row.

Unfortunately there is no accessible toilet at the Church. The closest is at The Cornish Bank. This is a 1 minute journey via steps or 5-10 minutes without steps. We appreciate your patience while we look into making the Church more accessible and comfortable for all music-lovers.
