Klub Nos Lowen - March
Dance into Spring with these two great bands.
Jacksons Claret
Champions of Cornish traditional music, they perform Cornish tunes and songs from the 1700s up until the present day. The combination of Melodeon (John Gallagher), Bouzouki & vocals (Pete London), Bodhran& vocals (Kate Evans) and fiddle (Andy Law), breathes new life into arrangements of well-known and more obscure Cornish songs, tunes and dances.
Raffidy Dumitz
Penzance’s ‘dark side’ musicians – emerged in 2015 from the Turkey Rhubarb Band, which was set up as part of Montol. Known for its distinctive sound, wide range of Cornish and other tunes, and lavish hats, Raffidy appear at a range of traditional and cultural events throughout West Cornwall – and sometimes further afield. Created by Simon Reed, the band is now led by whistle player Andy Farmery. 2015 is Raffidy’s anniversary year.
